One of the most versatile singers to emerge from New Zealand in recent years, Andrea Creighton   has quickly become known for her beautiful lyric voice, as well as her sensitive musicianship and her sparkling, vivacious stage portrayals. With her dramatic intensity and her command of several languages, she is a communicator of charm and conviction.

Andrea Creighton was born in New Zealand and trained at the Royal Northern College of Music, UK and the Centre de Formation Lyrique of the Paris Opera. Successful in many competitions, she was the winner of the New Zealand Mobil Song Quest; the Webster Booth/Esso Award in the United Kingdom; Countess of Munster Scholarship winner; Peter Moores Foundation Scholarship winner; the Anne Ziegler/Esso Award for the most promising young singer, UK; has been mentored by the Singers Development Foundation, New York; winner of the Opera Prize of the Cercle Carpeaux de L'Opéra National de Paris, and in her final year as a young artist of the Paris Opera - the very prestigious Prix d'A.R.O.P for the most outstanding debut performance of a Young Artist at the Paris Opera.

Andrea is currently performing the role of Carlotta in the Really Useful Company's World Tour Production of The Phantom of the Opera, after having just performed the role of Despina in Così fan Tutte for Melbourne Opera, Australia.

Ms. Creighton began her 2005/2006 season singing Mabel in a UK tour of The Parson's Pirates - a theatrical adaptation of The Pirates of Penzance for Opera della Luna, followed by critically acclaimed performances of Anna 1 in Kurt Weill's rarely performed masterpiece Die Sieben Todsünden.  For the 2006/2007 season Ms Creighton returned to the Opéra National de Paris to sing the Première Prêtresse and Diana in Iphigénie en Tauride under the baton of Maestro Marc Minkowski and then toured England and France in a reprise of the role of Rosina in Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia for Diva Opera. She then accepted the role of Carlotta in the Really Useful Company's 2007-2009 Australasian/Asian Tour of The Phantom of the Opera. From 2010 - 2012 Andrea had great fun performing the role of the Dubbo Housewife in the Australian tour of the hit show Menopause the Musical, demonstrating the versatility of a true cross-over artist.

Andrea Creighton made her debut with the Opéra National de Paris as Anna in Verdi's Nabucco under the baton of Maestro Pinchas Steinburg, followed by a Bridesmaid/Barbarina* in Le Nozze di Figaro   conducted by   Maestro James Conlon.   She was then engaged to sing a number of roles and covers   with the Opéra National de Paris, including Die Modistin - Der Rosenkavalier, Eine Zaubermädchen -   Parsifal, Frasquita - Carmen ,Valencienne*- Die Lustige Witwe, Infantin*/Zweite Gespielin - Der Zwerg and Nanetta - Falstaff. Other engagements include Fiordiligi - Così fan Tutte for the Atelier Lyrique de Tourcoing   conducted by Maestro   Jean-Claude Malgloire; Rosina - Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Susanna - Il Nozze di Figaro, and Adèle - Die Fledermaus for the NBR New Zealand Opera; the Countess Almaviva -Le Nozze di Figaro for the Savoy Opera,UK; Antonia/Stella - Les contes d'Hoffman for Iford Arts Festival,UK; Adina - L'Elisir d'Amore for the Mananan Festival UK; Anna 1 - Die Sieben Todsünden for the Auckland Chamber Orchestra, NZ; Amour - Orphée et Eurydice for the NZ International Festival of the Arts; Ellen - Lakmé for the Opéra National de Bordeaux, France; Frasquita - Carmen at the Festival L'Haras du Pin, France; Second Niece - Peter Grimes for the Opéra de Tours, France and Luigia - Viva la Mamma for the Opéra de Nantes, France.

Ms Creighton has toured Europe as part of the Young Artist Programme of the Opéra National de Paris singing roles including Norina - Don Pasquale, Adina - L'Elisir d'Amore, Susanna - Le Nozze di Figaro, and Despina - Così fan Tutte.

She is equally at home on the concert stage and was honoured to be asked to perform in a Gala Concert at the Festival d'Aix en Provence in homage to the founder of the festival, Gabriel Dussurget.

Ms Creighton is an especially sought after recitalist, and particular recital highlights include the New Zealand International Festival of the Arts, a series of recitals in Venice, Italy -  most notably at the Palazzo Labia and the Palazzo Levi, a series of concerts in Egypt and a recital tour performing in various New Zealand Embassies around the world with Dame Malvina Major.

Andrea's concert work includes engagements with L'Orchestre des Jeunes Français, L'Orchestre Pasdeloup, L'Orchestre National de Lyon, the English Camarata Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra and the Starlight Symphony, the Auckland Chamber Orchestra and the Vector Wellington Orchestra.

Ms Creighton is an established singing teacher specializing in Opera, Classical Voice and Musical Theatre, Role Preparation and Stage Craft.  She is also a sought after French Language for Singers Coach.
